Wal Restaurant Caernarfon is the culmination of two and a half years’ in the making, working with local Welsh businesses to restore the current building in order to retain its character and yet cook up a contemporary dining space, complete with real oak flooring from Anglesey, handcrafted ash furniture, made in Bangor, and table lights from Greece!

Diners will be also be intrigued with the arched wall which runs through Wal – which is believed to date back to Roman times, and is the same stone as that used to build Caernarfon’s magnificent castle.

"With a fascinating historical secret and a truly Welsh flavour, new Italian restaurant, Wal (‘wall’ in Welsh), on Caernarfon’s Palace Street, promises to be an absolute gastronomic delight."

Wal Restaurant Caernarfon's eclectic menu serves up everything from satisfying lunchtime burgers to top end fillet steaks. Owner, John Tyrrell , has sourced all his meat from Llanfair Hall, just four miles up the road. The meat of the herd of Welsh black cows grazing there yields a wonderful flavour, thanks to the lush grass and meadow flowers of their pasture, and a stress-free lifestyle spent alongside the Menai Strait.
Their meat is also dry hung for 28 days to ensure perfect tenderness, and then cooked on an olfactory state of the art char-grill for an unsurpassed culinary experience.

In addition to delicious steaks, Wal is serving up perfect pasta dishes, risottos and pizzas (great value from £6.95).
A traditionally mouth-watering day menu of soup, sandwiches, all-day breakfasts, burgers, fish and chips and the like, promises to keep hunger pangs at bay without draining your wallet.
